The Canadian senior men’s field hockey team defeated the United States 3-1 Saturday afternoon in their third game of a four-match test series. Canada is currently 3-0 on their tour of San Diego and face the US in their final game Sunday morning.
Canada dominated in all areas of the game, in particular possession and circle entries. However the Canucks found difficulty converting several opportunities.
Goal scorers were Scott Tupper, Wayne Fernandes, and Taylor Curran. It was Curran’s first career international goal.
The Americans broke what would have been Canada’s third straight shutout very late in the game.
Canada has been training and competing down in Chula Vista, California since February 4th as part of the their final preparation for the World Cup beginning at the end of the month.
