Canadian men depart for Argentina

The Canadian men’s national field hockey team departs today for Argentina to compete in the 2009 FIH Champions Challenge I tournament.  The team will assemble in Buenos Aires on Saturday before flying together to Salta on Sunday.

Canada’s opening match is scheduled for next Sunday, December 6 at 12:05 pm local time against Pakistan.

In the interim the Canadian team will acclimatize and prepare for the event through training sessions, team building, and scrimmages.

The Champions Challenge is a premier international tournament for the top teams in the world not competing in the elite Champions Trophy.  Also joining Canada and Pakistan are Belgium, China, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and host Argentina.
