FHC announces first ever Women’s Super League

Field Hockey Canada is proud to announce the first-ever Women’s Super League being held this April and May in Vancouver, British Columbia.  The four-week league features four teams and is hoped to be the start of an annual event to encourage high performance hockey at the senior level and increase the number of games played for current and potential national team athletes in British Columbia.

For the next four weekends, each team will practice and play each other under supervision of elite level coaches in order to create a competitive as well as developmental atmosphere. All games and practices begin this week, April 15th, and will feature most of Canada’s current National squad members, as well as former members.

The league will also highlight some of Canada’s up and coming youth and several UBC and UVic alumni. All games will be held at the home field of the Women’s national team at UBC’s Wright Field.
