Indian hockey team arrives in Canada for test series

After 33 years, India’s men’s national field hockey team arrived in Canada this afternoon at the Vancouver International Airport.  The last time the Indian Team came to Canada was for the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games!

The team is of course tired but in excellent spirits and were visibly impressed by the welcome signs and the special treatment they got from the Canadian Border Services Officials, Vancouver Airport Authorities, local media, local community members, and members of the 7 Test Super Series organizing committee. 

Mr.Ghulati, India’s team manager said to the press that the reception and treatment was excellent.  They were looking forward to the series against Canada.  He also thanked Field Hockey Canada for the invitation and they are looking forward to their visit to Canada.

The games will be played on October 9 and 11 in Victoria and on October 14, 16, 18, 21 and 24 in Surrey.  More information can be found online at www.7testsuperseries.ca and www.fieldhockey.ca.
