As Canada looks toward its last stage of preparation for the Pan Am Cup in Santiago, Chile, the team has just returned from a 4 day selection camp in Victoria, BC.

Alan Brahmst, head coach of the men’s national team, has identified 19 players for a ten day training project in Chula Vista, California starting on February 11th. Canada is planning to play two test matches against the US and is bringing along their training partner, Der Club an der Alster, the 2-time defending German Champion from Hamburg. Alster will also play two matches against the US. Alster itself is preparing for their EHL quarterfinal match-up with Egara at UHC in April. Canada and Alster will play a series of training matches and leverage each other’s capabilities and styles of play, while collaborating to optimize tactical intelligence and preparations.

Both Alster and Canada will arrive in Chula Vista on February 11th. Canada will return to their national training centre in Vancouver on the 21st and then depart on the 26th for South America, with the objective of winning the Pan Am Cup and qualifying for the 2010 World Cup.
