Playoffs begin in Mississauga

The playoff portion of the 2009 FHC U16 National Championships from Mississauga, Ontario begin today. In the women’s quarter-finals Alberta faces BC U14 Blue while BC White battles Ontario White. Ontario Red and BC Blue both receive byes into the semi-finals based on their round-robin standing.
In other matches Saskatchewan will face BC U14 White in an exhibition contest. Later in the day BC U14 White will then face Ontario U14 in the 7th-place classification match.
The men’s semi-finals begin at 4:15 PM EST and feature BC Blue versus Alberta and Ontario against BC White. BC U14 and Saskatchewan will face one another in the 5th-place classification match.
