Saskatchewan finishes in 5th place

Team Saskatchewan clinched 5th place in the 2008 U19 Women’s National Championship Sunday afternoon with a 4-2 consolation round victory over host Manitoba.

Katherine McNeil of Saskatchewan scored in the 47th and 50th minute respectively to seal the win. Teammates Stephanie Gardiner and Megan Scraper also scored.

Julie Lizak and Allison Moore scored for Manitoba. The hosts finish the nine-team event in seventh place.

Field Hockey Canada’s Under-19 Women’s National Championship takes place 17-20 July at East Side Eagles Turf in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
