Schedules released for 2010 Nationals

Field Hockey Canada has released the match schedules for the 2010 FHC National Championships in Victoria, June 30-July 4, and the 2010 FHC U16 National Championships in Mississauga, July 21-25.

The Victoria event is being held at the University of Victoria and features eight women’s teams and five men’s teams.  Included in the men’s tournament is the United States National Development Team.

The women’s tournament begins at 8:30 am on June 30th between the U18 BC Blue squad versus Manitoba.  The men’s tournament starts at 10:05 am with Ontario battling BC U18.  The Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for 11:30 am that morning.

The gold medal games will be played at 11:00 am (men) and 1:00 pm (women) on Sunday, July 4th.

At the U16 event be held at the Iceland Fields in Mississauga both gender tournaments kick off simultaneously at 9:00 am on Wednesday, July 21st with each the men’s and women’s BC Blue teams facing the men’s and women’s teams from Saskatchewan.

The tournaments feature six women’s and five men’s teams.

In total, 37 matches will take place over the four and a half days.  The gold medal games are scheduled for Sunday, July 25th at 10:00 am (men) and 12:00 pm (women).
