Two new appointments to the FHC Board of Directors

FHC is pleased to announce two new appointments to the Board of Directors, Mr Robin Richardson and  Mr Gordon Plottel.

Robin Richardson has been involved with Field hockey his entire life- Robin started to play as a young boy in England and continued his career when his family moved to Canada in 1991. Robin’s career has spanned from player to volunteer leadership as he has supported his local club on Vancouver Island and was Chair of Field Hockey Victoria until 2006 and he was also the Past President of the Vancouver Island Men’s League. In addition, Robin was the Team Manager for both the National Junior and Senior Men’s Teams from 2003-06; and Tournament Director for the 2008 Olympic Qualifier. He has also been a Board member of Pacific Sport Victoria for the past 7 years, and on a day to day basis, he is the V.P. Operations of Scott Plastics Ltd located in Sidney, BC on Vancouver Island.

Gordon Plottel brings a wealth and breadth of sport experience to the Field Hockey Canada Board of Directors. Currently, Gordon is a lawyer and partner with Miller Thomson LLP, a national law firm. His field hockey career includes playing for the National and Provincial Men’s Field Hockey teams, U-21 and senior from 1978-83; coaching junior teams from 1996-2010; a long standing Hawks Field Hockey Club member from 1973 – present, and he has also chaired various disciplinary panels for the Vancouver Men’s Field Hockey League. In addition, Gordon was a former director and chair of Sport BC, the umbrella organization of provincial amateur sport organizations in BC. Gordon has many interests in promoting the sport of Field Hockey in Canada, and in particular, he is very interested in supporting the development of our Long Term Athlete Development model across the country.
