UBC wins CIS Championship

The University of British Columbia Thunderbirds captured the 2009 CIS National Championship on Sunday afternoon with a 6-0 victory over Alberta Pandas.  The win gives UBC a record 12 McCrae Cup championships.

Canadian national team athlete Abigail Raye scored two goals on route to the victory.

Earlier in the day tournament hosts Victoria Vikes defeated the Guelph Gryphons 2-1 to claim the bronze medal.
