Domestic Competitions Committee Search

Field Hockey Canada (FHC) is searching for volunteers to sit on the Domestic Competitions Committee.  The committee’s role is to provide recommendations to the Board of Directors concerning the structure and delivery of field hockey domestic events and championships.  This includes host selection, host responsibilities and delivery, competitive structure, fundraising, and other policy.

Successful candidates will gain practical experience in the amateur sport industry and make a positive impact on the development of field hockey in Canada.

Committee members are expected to:

  • Attend and participate in conference calls once per month (on average)
  • Share knowledge and provide opinion in their area of expertise
  • Respond to e-mails and perform light administrative and research work (about 1 – 3 hours per week)

The ideal candidates will have knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • Tournament hosting
  • Communications and promotion
  • Long-term athlete development through competitions
  • Event sponsorship/fundraising
  • Event management

Location: No re-location is necessary

Wage: This is a volunteer position

Term: Successful applicants can start immediately and are asked to commit for one (1) year.

Field Hockey Canada (FHC), incorporated in 1991, is a Canadian sport federation responsible, with their Provincial partners, for the development and growth of field hockey in Canada.  Hockey, as it is called in most other countries, has the distinction of being the largest team sport played by both men and women in the world.  FHC’s primary role is to provide top coaching, training, and competitive opportunities for our members.
