Youth Pan American Tournament in Uruguay

March 9, 2010

Day 2

This morning we woke up at 7 am aka 1 am Vancouver time. After having a Uruguayan breakfast, we got on the bus and drove to our first practice. The sand field will take some getting used to, but it’s really cool when you look up for a pass and see a donkey prancing down the road. At 28 degrees at 9 am, the heat basically killed all of us. After practice was over we walked over to the Polo Club for some spaghetti and many baskets of bread. We watched the Canadian Men’s team play Argentina on the TV while we were there, and then had a snooze. We then woke up for our next practice, and by the end we all looked like tomatoes. Then we went out for dinner which took us a good 45 minutes to figure out the menu, with the help of Gabriella. Stuffed and exhausted, we went back to the hotel where we were ordered not to fall asleep by our ever energetic coaching staff. All 16 of us gather around watching ‘My Super Sweet 16’ and ‘Teen Mom’ trying to tame our anxiety of playing Uruguay tomorrow and getting a taste of the competition. Adios!! That means bye.
