Brenden Bissett made his national program debut in 2011. Bissett’s junior accolades include a silver medal at the 2012 Junior Pan American Championship and an appearance at the 2013 FIH Junior World Cup. Starting in 2012, he became a steady piece of the senior national team.
In 2015, Bissett was part of the senior squad that competed in the FIH World League and Pan American Games in 2015. As a result of both of these competitions and Canada’s placing, the Canadian men qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Bissett went on to be a part of Canada’s 2019 Olympic Qualifier victory on home soil vs Ireland in 2019, clinching the team a berth in the 2020 Tokyo Games.
