Born and raised in Vancouver, Claire Cheng discovered her passion for field hockey in 2015 after following a friend to the sport. Since then, she has become a standout athlete, representing BC for the past three years. She played on the U16 BC White team in 2022, finishing third at Nationals, before winning back-to-back gold medals with the U16 and U18 BC Blue teams in 2023 and 2024. In 2024, she earned Tournament 11 honors at the U18 Women’s Field Hockey Nationals.
Claire’s success extends internationally, having toured the Netherlands with the U17 Youth National Team as part of Field Hockey Canada’s NextGen program. Domestically, she competes for the Vancouver Hawks and plays for Little Flower Academy’s varsity team, which has placed top three in the BC AA High School Provincial Championship since 2022. With a strong track record and determination, Claire looks forward to continuing her growth in the sport at the highest level.
