Field Hockey Canada is hiring Assistant Coach & Technical Trainer Positions for the Tamanawis TAP Hub

Field Hockey Canada (FHC) is the National Sport Organization for Field Hockey in Canada. Available Positions at Tamanawis Hub:

  • Assistant Coach X2
  • Technical Trainer X1

Nature of the Agreement:

These are part-time and limited contractual agreements for the provision of coaching services. The Targeted Athlete Programs (TAP) are under the supervision of Field Hockey Canada’s High- Performance Leadership Team consisting of the High-Performance Director, Operations Manager, NextGen Director and Pathway Manager.

Terms:

Targeted Athlete Program – Tamanawis Hub:

This short-term contract will be from February 2023 – May 2023 and will cover the following

Assistant Coaches Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coaching, development, preparation and development of the TAP Training Hub Athletes to accelerate performance and support athlete development toward Next Gen
  • Work closely with the TAP Head Coaches to plan, coach and deliver the TAP Hub daily training environment including but not limited to; creating training plans and/or coach delivery as needed by the Head Coach (HC), video/notional feedback and supporting HC with athlete gap analysis and athlete growth development plans
  • Support the delivery of on Field physical preparation programming as planned by FHC Sport Science
  • Participate in monthly coaches meetings, be open to feedback and work with other coaches to share and
  • Participate in feedback and Gap analysis at completion of TAP

Technical Trainer:

  • Assist in the coaching, development, preparation and development of the TAP Training Hub Athletes to accelerate performance, technical skills and support athlete development toward Next Gen Selection
  • Working with coaches to improve technical skills of TAP group
  • Working closely with Head coach to incorporate technical skills into practice plans
  • Planning training sessions
  • Participate in monthly coaches meetings, be open to feedback and work with other coaches to share and
  • Participate in feedback and Gap analysis at completion of TAP

Continuation of these contracts is subject to a positive performance review after concluding the above elements.

Location:

Coaches and trainers must have suitable transportation to get to Tamanawis Field. (12601 64 Ave, Surrey, BC) 

Qualifications:

All coaches applying to provide their services in these areas must have the following:

  • All mandatory SafeSport modules and current criminal records
