ArifVirjee was introduced to field hockey when he was five years old. He went on to play club hockey with the Vancouver Hawks and Burnaby Field Hockey Club. He also played for the University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds and abroad in Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.
He made his first senior international appearance in 2014 at a Four-Nations tournament in Chile.
He is the son of long-time National Team and UBC coach ShiazVirjee.
