GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, taking place each year after Black Friday. The “Opening day of the giving season,” it’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday, the giving community comes together for GivingTuesday.
GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; it provides a platform for them to encourage the donation of time, resources and talents to address local challenges. It also brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners – nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals – to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness. Across Canada and around the world, GivingTuesday unites communities by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another.

How can you support Field Hockey Canada?
During the month of November, Field Hockey Canada and our National Teams will be engaging in a series of fundraising campaigns leading up to the day of giving on November 29th. Each team has created a different project and set a different goal to fundraise for their respective group this November.

Ways to Give to our Teams this Giving Tuesday

November 1 – 6
Junior Women’s National Team & Junior Men’s National Team
To kick start the month of Giving we are spotlighting our Junior teams this week. Both groups of these young athletes are training and developing to one day join our Senior Teams. Currently, they have the potential to be rostered for international events such as the Junior Pan American Championships, Junior Pan American Games & Junior World Cup. Their regular training environment, along with camps, and competitions are all self-funded, and supported by donors and sponsors like you.
This Giving Tuesday these groups are each looking to raise $23,500 to support the cost of their Sport Sciences and Performance Services. These services help the team maintain their mental, physical and emotional health while participating in this program. You can donate to one of these programs below to help cover the costs for our athletes.
Looking to ADOPT AN ATHLETE? Our fundraising program also offers athletes the opportunity to raise funds as an individual. You can support a junior player you know today to help make a difference on their hockey journey.

November 7 – 13
Women’s National Indoor Team
This week we are spotlighting our Indoor Women’s National Team. This group of dedicated athletes have been training to attend the postponed Indoor World Cup. Their time has finally come! This February from the 5 -11 the team will be heading to Pretoria, South Africa to compete. Within this short time frame the athletes are needing your support to help fund this trip, including their flights, accommodations, transportation and more!

DONATE TO THE INDOOR WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM
November 14 – 20
Men’s National Team
This week we are spotlighting our Men’s National Team. This group of dedicated athletes have been training towards their journey to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Along the way, the team has many competitions and events ahead to help them prepare, including Nations Cup, taking place later this month from November 28 to December 4. Their regular training environment, along with camps, and competitions are all self-funded, and supported by the government, donors and sponsors like you. These athletes are needing your support to help fund their trips, including their flights, accommodations, transportation and more between now and the Olympic Games!
This Giving Tuesday you can support the team by joining their fundraiser & purchasing a JERSEY MOUNT! 56% of the proceeds (exclusive of tax & shipping) from the purchase of every unit sold will be going back towards our Red Caribous to help contribute to the Men’s 2024 Paris Olympic journey.
