Day 2 :  

Waking up to the sun was definately a happy change from the usual Canadian winter weather. Driving to the field was both exciting and suspenseful wondering what the Olympic Training Centre would look like. When we saw it, all we could say was, "Wow….I wish we had this back at home!" Training was difficult because of the heat (25 degrees), but it was great to practice as a whole Canadian Junior National Team for the first time…

Field Hockey Canada is pleased to announce an identification camp that will be held in Vancouver from June 1st to 5th. The primary focus of the camp will be to monitor, educate and the reintegrate Canadian non-domestic based athletes.

Day 1 : "Journey Begins"  

After an early start we made it to the planes and headed to San Diego. Once we arrived safely, we made our way to the hotel. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory for dinner, however, it was short on the cheesecake. We are off to our first team meeting in preparation for our first day of practices in the hot sun tomorrow!!

WVSD opens field hockey academyMarch 3, 2011 Source: BC Local News.com This September, West Vancouver School District will become the first in Canada to open a field hockey academy. Registration for the new program, run out of Sentinel and Rockridge secondary schools, is currently underway. So far, out of the 30 spots available to Grade 8 to 12 boys and girls, approximately 12 spaces have been filled The new academy is open to youth of all skill levels and the district is hoping to draw more male players to the sport…
