About the Team

We are the Canadian Women’s National Field Hockey Team and we want you to join our journey! We are currently the nation ranking 13th in the World and we have our sights firmly focused on getting into the worlds top 10.

In 2019, our program garnered some of its best results ever. We secured wins or ties against numerous top 10 teams, finished 5th at the Commonwealth Games (outdoing any previous Canadian Women’s or Men’s Team), and narrowly missed the Olympics by a sudden death shootout.

As the COVID-19 pandemic began to subside in 2020, our team reconvened in Vancouver. We are now led by our Head Coach Rob Short – a Canadian field hockey legend himself – and we are working towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Our first stop is the PAC in January at which we intent to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Under his direction, we are motivated and prepared to reach the World Cup. If we qualify, this will be the first appearance for the womens’ program since 1994. Following the PAC in Chile, we have a very busy and quick run into Paris 2024, with CWG and Nations Cup in 2022 followed by the Olympic qualifiers and PAG in 2023.

We invite you to join us on this journey and become a part of our Wolf Pack!

About the Competitions

Thanks to your support, we DID IT! At the Pan-American Cup in January 2022, we earned a bronze medal and booked our ticket to the 2022 World Cup. This win is a historic moment for our program, as it has been 28 years since we have participated in this event. The journey we have experienced over the past decade has set us up for this moment.
“I’m just so proud of this group. It’s an unbelievable feeling. The way we were able to all pull together; we’ll hold onto that feeling going forward. I’m so excited [for the World Cup].” – Rowan Harris (Goalkeeper)
To all of Field Hockey Canada’s donors, partners, fans and supporters: Thank you for everything you do. Field Hockey Canada’s Women’s National Team is World Cup bound in 2022 and YOU helped make this possible!

It’s official, we will be playing Korea, Argentina and Spain in Pool C. You can check out our reactions to this pool play draw HERE. Stay tuned with us and Field Hockey Canada for more details on this coverage!

We still need your help to keep this journey going to Spain and the Netherlands from July 1-17, and we invite you to be a part of it. For more information on the World Cup check out their Event Page.

About the Fundraiser

Where you come in

Once again, we have been subjected to levies and are in need of significant financial support to achieve our dreams. Any amount you are able to contribute moves us one step closer to our goal of competing in the World Cup. We are extremely appreciative of any level of donation, and are equally appreciative of your willingness to simply share our campaign with your network. Whether you are able to contribute financially or not – you can still be a part of our journey and join our PACK by helping us get the word out.

Through this campaign, we have raised $50,000 to attend the Pan American Cup, where we qualified for the World Cup. We are now aiming to fundraise another $50,000 to help us attend the World Cup this summer. We will continue to be providing fun, community engagements or activities along the way, to connect with our network of supporters. Every time the community hits one of our milestone markers, they will have a chance to get up close and personal with us. Donate today to join our Pack for a year of community givebacks and fun!

For those giving large sum donations ($1,000 or more) we encourage you to please download the charitable donation form here and contact Field Hockey Canada directly to process your donation. Hailey Yhap (Membership Engagement Coordinator) – events@fieldhockey.ca  THANK YOU!

PLEASE NOTE: FHC fundraising goes towards the program. FHC nominated athletes and registered participants are on-boarded by FHC to enable FHC to collectively leverage our entire community network to support FHC programs. We use this platform to help raise funds for the program or event, for example, Masters, Junior Men’s National Program, Women’s National Program, Junior World Cup, Senior World Cup etc. In accordance with legislation, all funds raised for the program, stay within the program / event for which they are raised and cannot be transferred to another program or to any individual.
