Everyone has the right to train and compete in safe, respectful, and supportive environments. We believe Canada’s sport system should prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone involved.
Field Hockey Canada has adopted Sport Integrity Canada’s Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP), which is in effect as of April 1, 2025.
Through the CSSP Rules, the Sport Integrity Canada independently administers the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) for federally funded, national-level sport organizations by receiving and responding to reports of prohibited behaviour, and by developing and carrying out education, prevention, and policy activities.
The CSSP Rules clearly and publicly set out how that will be done, including defined timelines at each stage of the reporting process. The CSSP also offers support services to connect participants with help along the way.

As of April 1, 2025, the CSSP became the responsibility of Sport Integrity Canada. Through the Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP), the organization receives and responds to reports of prohibited behaviour under the UCCMS committed by individuals who are part of national, federally funded sport organizations. Sport Integrity Canada has established the CSSP Rules to clearly and publicly set out how they do that, including defined timelines at each stage of the reporting process. The CSSP also offers support services to connect participants with help along the way.
The UCCMS commits the Canadian sport sector to advancing a respectful sport culture that delivers quality, inclusive, accessible, welcoming, and safe sport experiences. The CSSP is similarly committed to advancing this fundamental goal.
Sport Integrity Canada is committed to providing a safe, timely, reliable, and procedurally fair environment for anyone involved in a report of maltreatment. Everyone connecting with Sport Integrity Canada team will be treated with respect, dignity, and compassion.
Sport Integrity Canada welcomes and encourages feedback about the CSSP as it evolves to meet the needs of the national sport community.
As of April 1st, 2025, the Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP) will replace the Abuse-Free Sport Program.
