Play Field Hockey

Field Hockey Canada’s Stick Together program is a national initiative designed to increase access to field hockey for underserved and equity-deserving communities across Canada. Supported through the Government of Canada’s Community Sport for All Initiative (CSAI), the program focuses on reducing barriers to participation for Indigenous peoples, Black communities, 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals, newcomers, low-income families, racialized communities, and persons with disabilities. Through inclusive, locally driven programs, Stick Together uses field hockey as a tool to build physical literacy, confidence, belonging, and lifelong engagement in sport.

Stick Together growth and participation strategy

To support this growing movement, Field Hockey Canada launched the the Stick Together website as a centralized hub for community programs, resources, success stories, and funding opportunities. The initiative has already achieved significant reach, supporting programs in every province and multiple territories, engaging tens of thousands of participants through more than 40 community programs. Guided by pillars of fair and inclusive participation, lifelong recreation, and healthy, connected communities, Stick Together helps local organizations deliver welcoming field hockey experiences that strengthen social connections and create opportunities for youth and families across the country.
