National Team Program Environments
One part of the Strategic Plan focuses on International performance. FHC’s high performance plan provides the details and guides the national team programs over the course of quadrennial plans aligned to the Olympic cycle. This HP plan implements many of the changes outlined in the 2020 High Performance review process led by Markus Weise (three-time gold medal winner) . This outlined the need for transformational system change which ius a decade long commitment has been slowly taking shape. FHC remains commitment to in order to create a long term future for the sport across Canada and for our national team programs
Field Hockey Canada’s Board of Directors adopted the recommendations made by Markus Weise. The board will ensure these become a key part of the strategic drive towards achieving long term, sustainable and sustained international performances for both WNT and MNT. The ambition is clear – to build a high performance system which will ensure WNT and MNT become top 10 nations and world podium contenders.
