FIELD HOCKEY CANADA
From grassroots to high performance, Field Hockey Canada is working to develop and strengthen field hockey across the country, and to position our National Teams for podium contention in 2016 and beyond.

POSITION SUMMARY
Field Hockey Canada is committed to sustainable success at the international level. To ensure that this goal is reached, a strategic priority has been placed on educating high performance coaches on the technological advances being used at the international level and within the Senior Men’s National Program.  

The focus of this role will be on educating the successful candidate on the responsibilities of a National Program Performance Analyst within a major international competition. It is the intention that this appointment will lead to further opportunities within the Field Hockey Canada Men’s National Team Program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all trip expenses including travel, accommodation and meals.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES OF THIS EXPERIENCE
•    Advanced instruction and training of Sports Code software
•    Skills to setup and use related video technology
•    Skills associated with developing code windows and developing video databases.
•    How to scout opposition using video technology and analytics
•    How to deliver planned, high quality video feedback to individuals, subgroups and team
•    How to provide evidence-based reports on opposing players and teams
•    Key knowledge of the Men’s Programs technical/tactical concepts

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will work closely with the Performance Analyst and Head Coaches on the following areas of delivery:
•    Video camera operation
•    Providing video/notational analysis as directed by the Head Coach
•    Live coding and post-games coding

EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
The Senior Men`s National team is looking for an individual that possesses the following qualities:
•    Highly-motivated self starter
•    Analytical thinker with a creative approach to problem solving
•    Good working knowledge of Apple technologies
•    Capability to take direction
•    Committed to working extended hours as required
•    Knowledge of Sports Code and/or Gamebreaker is an asset but not a requirement.
•    A High Performance coaching background is an asset but not a requirement.

Field Hockey Canada is committed to providing partial support of this position at the 2014 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia and will cover the individual’s accommodation for the duration of the trip. The successful candidate will be responsible to fund his/her round-trip travel as well as meals.
