Shyla Newmarch

Shyla Newmarch grew up in Calgary, Alberta, and is a forward in the Class of 2027. She joined Field Hockey Canada’s NextGen program, training with the country’s top emerging junior athletes. Newmarch has represented Team Alberta at the Canadian National Championships, competing above her age group at 15 and 16 and finishing as Alberta’s top goal scorer at the 2025 tournament. She also competes with Legacy Academy Field Hockey, traveling to U.S. showcases in Florida and California against top American clubs. A multi-sport athlete, Newmarch is a city champion hurdler and brings speed, competitiveness, and strong scoring instincts to the forward line.
