Ellie Cookson is a member of the Women’s Jr. Development Squad and made her first appearance in 2012 against USA in Vancouver.

Cookson was born in Toronto, Ontario but began playing field hockey in South Africa at the age of 11 because it was a popular sport and everyone was playing. She now resides in Boston, Massachusetts where she is attending Harvard University. She is currently majoring in cognitive neuroscience.

Ellie’s proudest field hockey moment was when she started the first game of the season at Harvard University as a freshman.

Cookson was a member of the team that competed in the 2016 Jr. Pan American Championships in Trinidad and Tobago where Canada finished 4^th.
