Mary grew up in Calgary, AB and started off her athletic career playing ringette as a player, which she played for 12 years and reached the AA level. Then when some of her ringette teammates tried field hockey, she started as well at the age of 6. She took up goalie a few years later at the age of 9, and she quickly fell in love with the position. Played competitively for the first time in the 2019 Nationals as the red shirt for team Alberta. Most recently was the goalie for Alberta in the 2022 Nationals and was awarded Tournament 11.
