Stella Goddard-Despot has played field hockey since she was 5 years old. Stella watched her two older sisters play and knew she had to play just like them. Because of her older sisters, she was always eager to compete and improve, which helped her get to where she is now.
At 13, she made her first provincial team, where she was one of the top goal scorers. She made NextGen in 2022 as one of the youngest players and played her first international match against the USA in April of that year. One of Stella’s proudest moments was during the u16 Nationals in 2022. After getting six stitches on her head due to an injury in the quarter-finals, she came back the next day as the captain and scored the winning goal to make her team National Champions. Stella was also a North shore All-Star for her high school season and was able to win high school provincials. Stella dreams of playing on the national team with her two older sisters, Arden and Nora.
