Dust off your stick and come out to the Masters Drop In Session. It’s a chance to meet your fellow athletes, get some turf time and have the fun we always do when that stick is in out hands!
All levels of athletes are welcome to join.
Field Hockey Canada is excited to welcome Minister Neil Lumsden as the Keynote speaker at the U16 opening ceremonies at Cassie Campbell Community Center in Brampton, Ontario at 6:30pm EST on August 8. Neil Lumsden was elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Hamilton East-Stoney Creek in 2022 and appointed as the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
Minister Lumsden has experience playing Varsity football at University of Ottawa as well as professional experience with the Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League. In addition, Minister Lumsden served as General Manager of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and Chief Operating Officer of the 2003 World Road Cycling Championships, hosted by Hamilton.
“Our government recognizes the important impact that events like Field Hockey Canada’s National Championships have on local communities and the development of our high-performance athletes, coaches and officials,” said Neil Lumsden, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
“Together, the U-16 and U-18 championship events will leave a lasting legacy for the sport as well as for the City of Brampton. I wish all participants the very best of luck.”
