How did you first get into umpiring?
There was a need for umpires in the local high school league so I decided to give it a go. Higher level umpires noticed I had potential so convinced me to umpire in the OUA and then things took off from there.
Other field hockey background:
Goaltender at the university level.
Favourite umpiring memory:
Umpiring Ireland in Dublin on St Patrick’s day was exciting.
Youth Olympics in China was a fun tournament with other umpires from around the world.
Advice for aspiring umpires?
Learn from every experience, ask questions, watch others but most importantly always find the fun.
Best part about umpiring is the fantastic people you meet and the shared passion for a game we all love.
Notable umpiring appointments:
2014 2nd Youth Olympic Games (Nanjing, China)
2014 World League Round 2 (Dublin, Ireland)
