Bowing out of the field hockey competition after the preliminary round wasn’t quite what Canada’s field hockey team had in mind for its Olympic Games. But with a strong finish in its final match, drawing India, the world’s fifth ranked team, Canada’s men’s field hockey team held its collective head high and has since been experiencing the non-competition side of the Games.
Of course, having their Olympic journey come to an end on the field wasn’t easy.

Team captain Scott Tupper recently joined Shane Foxman of Vancouver’s CKNW AM 980 to debrief about all things Olympics. Listen here.
Immediately after the 2-2 tie with India on Friday, many of the Canadian men – including Tupper – took to social media to share their thoughts on their competition stage coming to an end:

Once the initial sting wore off, Canada’s men were able to take in the grandeur of the Olympic Games.
First the men visited “Canada House,” the home of Team Canada at the Olympic Games, to be honoured by the Canadian Olympic Committee, fans, friends, family and fellow athletes.

Then, after a customary photo with #RedCarbiou antlers up, a few of the veterans joined Alexandra Orlando for a light-hearted interview:

With a week to go before the Closing Ceremony, many of Canada’s men have been taking in the sights and sounds of the Olympics with family and friends who, others have simply been enjoying all that is beautiful about Rio:
