Notice is hereby given that Field Hockey Canada (FHC) will conduct a Special Meeting (SM) on May 23, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM PST. This SM will be a virtual meeting.
This meeting will be chaired by an independent parliamentarian, Jason Robinson from Sport Law.
The SM will be held using the ZOOM videoconferencing platform and Members must have registered by May 16, 2026, to participate in the virtual meeting and to verify their voting delegate. Each Member (Provincial Association) must email CEO Susan Ahrens at sahrens@fieldhockey.ca , no later than May 16, 2026, and provide the following information:
- Full Name of Member
- Email address of the Voting Member (note this email address will be used during the SM)
The agenda for the meeting will be:
- Call to order and determination of a quorum
- Review of meeting procedures
- Business:
- Proposed amendments to the FHC bylaws as circulated with this Notice
- Adjournment
Copies of the proposed amendments to the FHC bylaws are enclosed with this Notice. Please note that the amendments must be passed by Special Resolution, which means a resolution passed by two thirds of the votes cast on that resolution, and on which no fewer than three (3) Members vote in favor.
PROXY FORM
According to Article 9.2(b) of the FHC bylaws, all Proxy forms must be submitted prior to the date of the Special Meeting. The Corporation has established a deadline of May 21, 12:00pm PST for all proxy form submissions, in accordance with sub-section (ii).
Additional information for the Special Meeting, including the ZOOM link, voting instructions, and Special Meeting documentation will be provided to registered attendees prior to the meeting. For the purposes of an online meeting, voting will be conducted by secret ballot as outlined in an Attendance and Voting Instructions document will be sent to all Members in advance of the meeting.
