Continuing our review of the year for the Canadian women’s field hockey team, part two focuses on the Pan American Games in Toronto, where Canada’s women made history.
Not only was the opportunity to play a major games at home a memorable experience, but like they did on 2011, Canada’s women faced Chile in the bronze medal game with a chance to earn a medal. But unlike four year prior, Canada came out on top, making them the first Canadian women’s field hockey team to medal at the Pan Am Games since 1999 in Winnipeg.
Watch the highlights, feel the emotions, and hear from captain Kate Gillis, veteran forward Thea Culley, and defender Abigail Raye.
