Field Hockey Canada Nationals U15 Division – Day 4 Recap

Friday’s games featured many high scoring matches across the board. To start the day, the women’s Ontario Central team took a tight 3-1 win over Alberta, while the BC Rams played against the Stags for a comfortable 4-1 victory. Then, the BC boys took on Alberta, coming out on top with a close score of 2-0.

Women’s:

Ontario Central 3-1 Alberta

BC Stags 1-4 BC Rams

PEI 0-7 BC Lions

BC Stags 8-0 Ontario East

Alberta 4-0 PEI

Men’s:

BC 2-0 Alberta

The afternoon showcased the first playoff games of the tournament, with both the BC Stags and PEI going up against Ontario East and Alberta in the crossover matches. The BC Stags put up an amazing performance against Ontario East, scoring 8 goals and keeping a shutout to win the game 8-0. Alberta had an amazing performance against PEI, attaining their first win of the tournament by a score of 4-0

After the games all of the players from every team met and competed in the skills competition, where they were able to play games, win prizes, and have fun with all the teams.

Playoff matchups are confirmed as teams prepare to face off in the Semi-final games, to ensure an opportunity to play for the gold medal.

Playing Career – Has been playing field hockey for 9 years, currently playing for the University of PEI

Coaching Career – First tournament as a provincial coach, hoping to become a high school coach. 

Favourite coaching moment – “I just like uplifting the players and helping them through the games.”
