Canada took to
the field in their fourth match of the 4 Nation Classic against Chile on a
beautiful Thursday afternoon in Vancouver.

Philip WRIGHT
celebrated his 100th International Match for Canada during this
game. Congratulations to Philip Wright for achieving this milestone.

Canada dominated
from the start. They passed the ball with purpose and intention around the
Chileans but were not able to generate any dangerous scoring chances in the
early part of the first half.

Canada was awarded
their second penalty corner in the 18th minute. Mark PEARSON scored
off a scramble to open the scoring.

The Canadian
defence played a superb half. They didn’t allow any corners and Chile only had
a handful of circle entries.

The first half
ended with Canada leading Chile 1-0.

Canada continued
to play well in to start the second half. They were rewarded for their effort
when Dave JAMESON scored from field play to give Canada a two goal lead.

Half way through
the second half, Chile started to bring the game to Canada. Canadian goalkeeper
was forced to make three terrific saves to keep the Chileans off the board.

Chile earned a
penalty corner in the 66th minute. A hard shot beat both CARTER and
Jesse WATSON on the post.

The final score
was Canada 2 – Chile 1.

Canada improves
their record in the 4 Nation Classic to 4 wins.

Canada plays
again on Friday at 6:00 against Trinidad & Tobago.
