Philip Wright est non seulement un des joueurs les plus expérimentés de l’équipe nationale masculine, mais il vient aussi d’une des plus grandes familles de hockey sur gazon au Canada.

Lee Wright, son père, ainsi que son frère Anthony ont chacun représenté le Canada. Phil a connu une longue carrière marquée de succès.

Après avoir joué un premier match en 2004 à Londres contre les Pays-Bas, il a participé aux Jeux du Commonwealth de 2006 et de 2014, aux Jeux panaméricains de 2011 et à la Coupe du Monde de 2010.

En 2014, il a aidé le Canada à prendre le deuxième rang au Défi des Champions en Malaisie, soit leur meilleur classement à vie à ce tournoi.

Philip Wright is not only one of the most experienced players on the Men’s National Team, but he comes from one of the most storied field hockey families in Canada.

Wright’s father Lee and brother Anthony both competed for Canada in the Olympics. Philip has gone on to carve of a long and successful career himself.

After making his debut in 2004 at the Pan American Cup against the Netherlands Antilles, he has gone on to compete at the Commonwealth Games (2006, 2010, 2014), Pan American Games (2011), and World Cup (2010).

In 2014 he helped Canada finish second at the Champions Challenge, upsetting hosts Malaysia in a thrilling shootout ont he way to Canada’s best ever finish at that tournament.

He has played club hockey abroad in Holland, France and Australia, winning the French Club Championship in 2011.
