Canada wraps up Australian Series in Toronto

May 17, 2010

The Canadian men’s and women’s indoor national squads completed their Series with Australia over the weekend.  Both teams experienced quality competitive games contributing to their preparations for the World Cup Qualifier.

The Saturday men’s games saw Canada drop a close 4-3 decision before picking up their first win of the week with a 6-5 victory in the afternoon.  Brandon Barber scored what proved to be the game winning goal in the 30th minute.

On Sunday the Canadians lost the morning match 12-5.

The women’s matches on Saturday saw the Australians shut out Canada 3-0 and 6-0 respectively.  Australia then took the Sunday games by scores of 6-0 and 5-2.  Emily Rix and Angela Lancaster scored the Canadian goals.

FHC would like to thank the organizers of the event for their hard work and dedication along with all the fans who came out to show their support.
