Field Hockey Canada launches
LTHD Resource Centre

March 30, 2012 | Field Hockey Canada |

The Canadian field hockey community has been looking for a way to ensure athletes from PEI to Vancouver Island receive quality and relevant coaching from the playground to the podium.  Field Hockey Canada (FHC) responded by building the LTHD Resource Centre – an online platform to share and exchange resources across the field hockey community.

The LTHD Resource Center is built upon the Long Term Hockey Development (LTHD) Model, which encourages athletes to engage in sport in the right way at the right time – and with the right support.  The Resource Centre provides this support by equipping coaches, athletes and parents with the background knowledge and tools they need.

We are excited to announce the first-phase launch of the LTHD Resource Centre.  Take a few minutes to check it out!

In this first-phase you can find curriculum including technical, tactical and game intelligence drills focused on the Fundamentals to the Train to Train stage. (Click here for more information on LTHD stages).

In May, FHC will launch phase two of the website, which will include videos demonstrating the core skills in training drills.  Stay tuned!
