India defeats Canada in Surrey

The Canadian women’s national team were defeated 4-1 by India in the third match of the Canada-India Cup 2010 from Surrey, British Columbia.  Game four occurs at 4:00pm (PST) in Vancouver today.

Azelia Liu was called upon early to make a couple of saves, however, Canada settled down and scored the first goal of the game in the 10th minute on a penalty corner on a nice deflection by Anna Kozniuk.  

India received the next 4 penalty corners of the game and they scored on the fourth one at the 17th minute mark.

India was quick to score again on a free play goal 4 minutes later on a free play goal.

India received a penalty corner early in the second half and score at the 38th minute mark to make the score 3-1

In the 51st minute India struck again on a free play goal making it 4-1

“The girls competed well and had a good start to the game, unfortunately we were unlucky on many of the calls”  Coach Mendonca.
