Making a difference in Mexico

August 29, 2012 | Field Hockey Canada |

The Canadian Men’s Junior National Team is focused on training for the 2012 Pan American Junior Championship, September 10 – 23 in Guadalajara, Mexico and looking to qualify for the 2013 International Hockey Federation (FIH) Junior World Cup.  While in Mexico, the team is planning to make a difference on and off the pitch and they need your help!  In 2010, the Canadian U17 Men’s National Field Hockey Team played in the Pan Am Youth Championships in Hermosillo, Mexico.  After the tournament, the athletes donated used equipment to the local athletes which was greatly appreciated. The team want to follow up on the goodwill created in Hermosillo and they are collecting new and used field hockey equipment (sticks, stick bags, balls, gloves, shin guards and turf shoes – anything field hockey related) to support local athletes in Mexico.

If you would like to make a donation, please contact Seona Johnston at . to make arrangements to pick up equipment by September 4 prior to the team’s departure for Mexico on September 6. Thanks for your support!
