Ontario teams win gold, silver in Orlando

Ontario U14 Women’s Field Hockey Team wins Gold and Silver at US National Field Hockey Tournament in Orlando

TORONTO /CNW/ – Field Hockey Ontario is pleased to announce that the Ontario under 14 age group (U14) Women’s Field Hockey teams captured both gold and silver medals at the US National 2010 ESPN Rise Games. The championships were hosted by USA Field Hockey and took place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World ® Resort in Orlando, Florida from July 22 to July 25, 2010.

The two Ontario women’s teams battled against field hockey teams from across the US to achieve these wins.

Both teams were coached by Sara Ali and Emily Rix.

"Field Hockey Ontario thanks Sara and Emily for their time and dedication to this team, as well as the parents and athletes. We are very proud of our young, elite Canadian Provincial Team players, who excelled so well at this US National field hockey tournament," says Ann Doggett, President of Field Hockey Ontario.
