Pereira receives flag at raising ceremony in Delhi

Ken Pereira, captain of the men’s field hockey team and flag bearer for the Canadian contingent of athletes competing in the 2010 Commonwealth Games was presented with the Canadian flag in a special flag raising ceremony Friday in Delhi.

Pereira received the Canadian flag from Alexandra Orlando, Rhythmic Gymnast and flag bearer at the Closing Ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

Ken was also given a special bracelet which is awarded to all Canadian Commonwealth Games flag bearers.

The Opening Ceremony will air on CBC and CBCSports.ca beginning at 9:00 am EST this Sunday morning.
