Canada – 1 Scotland – 5
The 4 – 0 score for Scotland in the 1st half did not reflected the complete picture of play. Canada improved in some area of it’s game compared to the first match less than 24 hours earlier. Canada showed better ball movement, positional play and man making, leading into space and quick counter attacks. Canada lost focus twice when Scotland had earned free hits inside the 25, not resetting defensively, allowing Scotland to take advantage of quick hits attacking into the circle and scoring at the 5th and 25th minutes. Scotland added a field goal at the 32nd minute by Ross Glashan # 17 and another by Alan Forsyth # 9 as time ran out in the 1st half off a penalty stroke. Canada had several scoring chances of their own with fast counter attacks and earned 3 penalty corners, but was unable to convert.
The score at the end of the 1st half was Canada 0 – Scotland 4.
Scotland got their last goal at the 52nd minute converting on a penalty corner by Alan Forsyth # 9. Canada continued a high work rate both on and off the ball. Canada was awarded penalty corner late in the match at the 60th minute and Brenden Bissett # 11 scored on a defection.
The score at the end of the 2nd half was Canada 1 – Scotland 5.
