Field Hockey Canada is excited to announce four summer job opportunities through the Canada Summer Jobs program. These positions offer a the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of sports management, communications, and event coordination. Field Hockey Canada also offers a fun, inclusive work environment within a nation-wide sport community. Below is a brief overview of each position available.
Events Coordinator
The Events Coordinator will support event management and planning, particularly for the Field Hockey Canada Nationals in Brampton at the end of July. This role involves assisting with administrative activities and working closely with various stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and organizing events, special priority on the Field Hockey Canada Nationals in Brampton.
- Support communication efforts related to events.
- Collaborate with local organizers and key staff.
- Ensure smooth execution of Field Hockey Canada events.
Communications Coordinator
The Communications Coordinator will lead and support various communications, marketing, sponsorship, and fundraising initiatives. This role involves collaborating with the Communications Manager, CEO, and other program leads, with a focus on communications, social media, and marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication strategies, primarily pertaining to Field Hockey Canada Nationals.
- Manage social media accounts and create engaging content.
- Support fundraising and sponsorship efforts.
- Collaborate with team members on marketing campaigns.
Special Project Coordinator: Communication and Athlete Spotlight
The Special Project Coordinator will handle communication activities and support event management during the summer of 2025. This role includes producing athlete spotlight features and providing integrated marketing and fundraising support.
Responsibilities:
- Create comprehensive athlete spotlight features.
- Assist in event planning and execution of marketing and fundraising campaigns.
- Support marketing and fundraising initiatives.
- Work closely with the Communications Manager and other key staff.
Sports Science Apprentice
The Sports Science Apprentice will assist the High-Performance Director and Field Hockey Canada Sport Scientist in delivering and observing strength and conditioning practices for Field Hockey Canada’s flagship teams, including Jr. and Sr. National Teams for both men and women.
Responsibilities:
- Support strength and conditioning sessions.
- Observe and assist with sport science practices.
- Collaborate with the High-Performance Director and Sport Scientist.
- Contribute to the development of performance programs.

About Canada Summer Jobs
Canada Summer Jobs is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS), which aims to provide quality summer employment opportunities for youth to develop skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.
The program provides wage subsidies to support employers from not-for-profit organizations and the public sector, as well as private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality summer work experiences for youth aged 15 to 30 years.
