Staff Announcement: Grace Li, Communications and Event Coordinator

Field Hockey Canada is excited to introduce Grace Li as the organization’s new summer Communications and Event Coordinator. Currently a Creative Industries student at Ryerson University, Li joins Field Hockey Canada after playing the sport for five years and developing a strong passion for sports marketing and management.

“Joining Field Hockey Canada is a dream,” she said. “I knew the position was a perfect fit instantly. Nothing excites me more than assisting with events and promotional strategies that help grow the sport I hold dear to my heart.”

Li has focused her efforts on event services, volunteering with Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games Organizing Committee, Canadian Paralympic Committee and Skate Canada. She has firsthand experience in running successful events at her university due to her involvement in student leadership roles, and her desire to create positive, engaging experiences has led her to this opportunity.

Working alongside Field Hockey Canada staff and a variety of key partners, Li will focus much of her energy on the upcoming national championships, grassroots events and coverage of national team tours. Kevin Underhill, Field Hockey Canada’s Communications Manager, said Li will have an immediate impact and continue to grow in the position.

“We’re thrilled to bring Grace on board…Working in Toronto, [she] adds some geographical diversity to the Field Hockey Canada team and will be using her local connections to drive the growth and promotion of the game across the country,” Underhill said. “The Canadian field hockey community is gearing up for an action-packed summer and Grace will no doubt be a huge contributor on the Field Hockey Canada team.”

Li added, “With Nationals being held in Toronto this August, I’m looking forward to being in the middle of it all. It’s a great way to bring field hockey to the community, especially with the return of the U23 division.”
