Peter Milkovich and Field Hockey Canada (“FHC”) are pleased to report that they have amicably resolved their differences and have mutually brought their litigation to an end.
FHC wishes to make clear that Peter’s departure from the Women’s Junior National Team (“WJNT”) in October 2012 was entirely without cause and FHC appreciates Peter’s contributions to the success of the WJNT in reaching the 2013 Junior World Cup.
In addition to his coaching accomplishments, Peter was one of FHC’s more distinguished athletes on the international stage, representing Canada in 268 consecutive international matches from 1988-2000 and retiring as captain of the Men’s 2000 Sydney Olympic team. Peter also contributed significantly as an assistant coach/technical advisor to the success of the Men’s 2008 Beijing Olympic team and the Men’s 2010 World Cup team prior to leading the WJNT to their best finish in over 14 years in the Pan American Cup.
FHC acknowledges Peter’s past contributions and will continue to receive his input on high performance strategy. To this end, Peter will be working in the coming months to develop recommendations for consideration by the FHC Board in an effort to support Canada’s athletes as they compete on the international stage.
