In 2014, Canada’s Men’s and Women’s Field Hockey teams competed in a variety of major competitions and accomplished a lot. There was much to be proud of, but nothing worth resting on. All of the previous year’s competitions and experiences set the stage for what is upcmoming in 2015.
Last year, both indoor teams won the Pan American Cup in Montevideo, Uruguay to secure sports in the upcoming 2015 Indoor World Cup in Leipzig, Germany.
The Men’s and Women’s outdoor National Teams both competed in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, while the women convincingly won the first round of World League.
It was great preparation as 2015 holds great importance for both the indoor and outdoor programs.
With the indoor teams headed to the World Cup and looking to achieve indoor hockey supremacy, and the outdoor teams looking to secure a berth in the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Brazil, and hosting the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, there will be no lack of storylines to follow in 2015.
