Field Hockey Canada’s Masters Committee is inviting all interested masters-eligible players to complete an expression of interest survey to participate in the 2025 Masters Pan American Championships (PACC), scheduled from September 21st to September 30th in Asuncion, Paraguay. The team registration deadline is January 22, 2025.
Please complete this survey by Monday, January 20, 2025
This will enable us to register the required number of teams, recruit coaches and team managers, book turf for regional/national training camps and all other associated logistics. None of this is possible without an accurate understanding of who is interested.
This is a wonderful opportunity to play age group appropriate competitive hockey in an international arena. World Masters Hockey sanctioned events are structured in over men’s and women’s 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 age groupings. We encourage all players who are keen to develop their skills and play masters hockey to complete this survey.
To be considered for selection, players must:
- be aged 35 and over as of 31 Dec 2025;
- be a registered member of Field Hockey Canada in good standing and with a provincial association;
- be registered in the Field Hockey Canada database;
- not be under suspension or sanction by Field Hockey Canada or Sport Canada for any doping or doping related offence;
- hold or be eligible to hold a Canadian Passport or have been a permanent resident of Canada for twelve (12) months;
- commit to sign any applicable Athlete Agreement as required by Field Hockey Canada; and
- be eligible under current regulations and have not played for another country’s International Masters team in a WMH/FIH competition in the previous twelve (12) months.
Player Selection Process:
Player selection is governed by the Field Hockey Canada National Masters Athlete Selection Policy. Click here to review the selection policy and click here to visit the masters governance page.
Costs:
The Masters teams are self-funded. If selected to play at this event, the individual/shared costs will include: airfare/travel, accommodation, tournament entry fees, facilities rental, uniforms, coaching honorarium/costs, food. Depending on where a player is traveling from, we suggest budgeting between $4,000 – $5,500. This is just an estimate and does not include costs for regional/national training camps.
Thank you for completing the survey!
