FHC Board welcomes new members

Field Hockey Canada has appointed two new members to the Board of Directors   Philip Wright, a current member of the Men’s National Team and former Junior, has been elected by the Junior and Senior athletes to join the Board as the men’s athlete representative. Field Hockey Canada announces women nominated to compete for Team Canada at the Pan American Games

Men fight hard against the Netherlands

The Men’s National Team’s second and final match against the Netherlands was hard fought, but ended in a 2 – 7 loss. Canada came out strong, but their efforts were not enough to defeat the third ranked team in the world.

Canada struggles to keep up with the Dutch

“The Netherlands are a world class team, and we failed to adjust to the pace early in the game,” said Assistant Coach Anthony Farry. “However, the team was able to find its structure in the second half and even create a number of good opportunities.”

Disappointing loss for Team Canada

“We had a disappointing performance,” said Head Coach Robin D’Abreo. “The guys started off flat and did not rise to the occasion. We came on this tour to be stretched and to expose our weaknesses, and they have been. It’s our job now to move forward as a team. I remain confident in the guys.”

Belgium outplays Canada Men in final match

Heavy rain poured in Brussels as Team Canada Men faced Belgium for the third and final time. Canada surprised Belgium with a goal within the first five minutes, but was unable to maintain momentum throughout the match.
