How did you first get into umpiring?
I initially began for the extra cash on the weekends. Then the club started needing more umpires for women’s league.

Umpiring the Commonwealth Games semi-final between host nation Australia and India; then the Bronze Medal match.
Advice for aspiring umpires?
Make sure you enjoy it because otherwise it’s not worth doing. Be yourself. It is okay to smile and have a laugh, just remember to respect the players and the game. It has allowed me to travel the world and meet some of the most fantastic people. The umpiring world becomes your extend family.

How did you first get into umpiring?
There was a need for umpires in the local high school league so I decided to give it a go. Higher level umpires noticed I had potential so convinced me to umpire in the OUA and then things took off from there.

Favourite umpiring memory:
Umpiring Ireland in Dublin on St Patrick’s day was exciting.
Youth Olympics in China was a fun tournament with other umpires from around the world.
Advice for aspiring umpires?
Learn from every experience, ask questions, watch others but most importantly always find the fun.
Best part about umpiring is the fantastic people you meet and the shared passion for a game we all love.
