Field Hockey Canada > Schedule released for men's Hockey World League Final

The Canadian Senior Men’s Field Hockey Team will put a feather in what has already been a very successful and eventful year when they take to the field at the Hockey World League Final in Rajpur, India this November.

Today, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) released tournament details, including the full schedule.

Canada, grouped in Pool A, will open the tournament on November 28 at 2:30pm local time (2:30am Pacific, 5:30am Eastern) when they face Great Britain, which is currently ranked fifth in the world.

The Canadians will close out the round robin stage with two more matches on November 29th and December 1st against Belgium (World No.4) and Australia (World No.1) respectively.

The tournament will then enter the quarter-finals with all eight teams advancing to the second stage on December 2nd and 3rd. Semifinal and classifcation matches will take place on December 4th and 5th with the medal matches being played on December 6th.

Canada advanced to the World League Final by way of its fourth place finish at World League Round 3 in Buenos Aires, Argentina in June. 

All the teams competing in the World League Final – including Canada – have qualified for the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil next August.
